I volunteered at the prairie off of 59 Saturday morning. I was asked to help clean up which comprised of picking up twigs, cutting back the brush, and throwing all of it into a big pile to be burned. I gained a lot from the experience and I can't wait to go back this Saturday to do it again because it was a really fullfilling day and not only did I learn a lot about the prairie I also helped to clean it up and at the end of the three hours it was evident that we were making a difference.
I make a difference when I help the younger gymnasts in my gymnastics club. I help them learn new skills and how to improve the skills they have. I love helping them with their gymnastics because it makes me feel good that I am helping them succeed and become better gymnasts. Seeing them improve makes me so happy not just because I helped them improve, but because they have a smile from ear to ear when they finish their routine. Even though I do not spend a lot of time with them, the little things I do still make a difference in their lives.
I tutor other students in spanish and also often participate in charity walks for a variety of causes. I like volunteering because it feels good to know you're doing something for someone else with no personal benefit.
I never empty or fill the dishwasher at my house. But i did for the first time. I think my mom was actually happy that i helped out even in that small way.
